CFPB Continues to Clash with Business and Political Leaders Regarding Arbitration Rule: Many groups and politicians continue “sharply criticizing” the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) anti-arbitration rule, which some say is an easy payday for trial lawyers and is also a symbol of an agency with too much unchecked power. ILR’s Bryan Quigley is quoted stating that, “the whole point of arbitration is to try to build a dispute-resolution system that’s fast, efficient and more equitable to all parties, customers included, that doesn’t include all the processes of the court that bog down cases for years.” (The Columbus Dispatch)
