Blame courts, Legislature for Pa. failing on jobs: Former state representative Curt Schroder says there are two reasons for Pennsylvania’s poor lawsuit climate ranking: “the courts and the Pennsylvania Legislature.” He said ILR’s 2017 Lawsuit Climate Survey is a “useful reminder that much work needs to be done” in the state to “create a balance in our laws and courts.” (The Mercury)

Litigation funder eyes Asian market with $150m investment: Litigation funder IMF Bentham announced two new investments funds totaling $150 million for cases in Australia, Asia, Canada, and Europe. This follows an announcement earlier this year of a $200 million investment in U.S. cases. (Law Society Gazette)
