Spokeo Lawsuit Revived By 9th Circ.

August 16, 2017

Fifteen months after the U.S. Supreme Court asked it to further examine whether the plaintiff suffered “concrete and particularized” injury, the 9th Circuit ruled unanimously for Thomas Robins in his online data suit against Spokeo, Inc., Reuters reports.

Robins sued the company, alleging his online profile contained incorrect information. The Supreme Court last May reversed an earlier ruling and remanded the case back to the 9th Circuit, with Justice Samuel Alito saying that not all profile inaccuracies could lead to real harm.
