Businesses and schools are turning to coronavirus waivers to guard against potential lawsuits in the absence of a federal liability shield, according to a report in The Hill.

“We need a national standard that protects businesses from COVID-19 lawsuits so everyone knows the rules of the road,” Harold Kim, president of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform, said. “Waivers are not always a foolproof protection against lawsuits.”
