  • Coastal Lawsuits Moving Louisiana In "The Wrong Direction"
November 28, 2018

Local lawsuits filed on behalf of Louisiana parishes will “only continue to move Louisiana in the wrong direction,” the executive director of Louisiana Lawsuit Abuse Watch told the Louisiana Record.

Lana Venable said the lawsuits, like the one filed by the Plaquemines Parish Council, will “weaken the state’s struggling economy, which has lost thousands of jobs and major manufacturing projects in recent years.” Vebable’s comments come after the Council fell one vote short of ending the lawsuit before recent elections added more council members who are likely to continue it. A recent video from Faces of Lawsuit Abuse show how similar lawsuits have affected the state’s sportsmen’s industry.
