  • Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Highlights “Piling On,” Corporate Compliance in Keynote Address

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Rod Rosenstein recently gave remarks on anti-corruption efforts about the dangers of duplicative “piling on” enforcement actions, the value of good corporate compliance programs, and the need for enforcement agencies to incentivize compliance, according to the Department of Justice news service.

In the course of his speech, DAG Rosenstein reprised themes from his May remarks to the New York City White Collar Crime Institute, encouraging the business community to think of law enforcement agencies as allies against corrupt competitors seeking unfair advantages. He also touched on the imperative for companies not only to create robust compliance programs, but to foster a true culture of compliance among employees, so that compliance considerations are an automatic part of any business decision.
