Garlock Sealing Technologies hopes a Kentucky appellate court reinstates its lawsuit against a Louisville plaintiffs' firm who represented a plaintiff in a $700,000 asbestos case. Garlock alleges the plaintiffs' attorneys "waited until they had secured the verdict to begin submitting claims of bankruptcy trusts designed to compensate asbestos victims." (Legal Newsline)

A surge in personal injury claims in the UK is having an impact on at least one insurer, Esure, who says the increase in claims caused the company's half-year profits in its motor insurance underwriting business to plummet by more than 21%.
