Canadian Class Action Lawsuits More Than Double in 2016: The number of class action lawsuits filed in Canada more than doubled in 2016 compared to the year before according to a report from NERA Economic Consulting. Additionally, the report found that a U.S.-listed company is six times more likely to get hit with a securities suit than a Canadian listed company. (D&O Diary)

When and How Will Trump Replace CFPB Director?: Industry experts speculate that President Trump may be “waiting for the PHH case to be decided” before trying to oust CFPB Director Richard Cordray. In October of 2016 CFPB v. PHH Corporation ruled the structure of the CFPB was unconstitutional.
