Federal Grand Jury Adds 23rd Charge to West Virginia Supreme Court Justice’s Indictment: A federal grand jury added a 23rd charge to state Supreme Court Justice Allen Loughry’s indictment. The new charge is for obstruction of justice and alleges Justice Loughry “knowingly and corruptly endeavored to influence, obstruct, and impede the due administration of justice” by creating false narratives about his misconduct and blaming others for improperly using funds and property. Companies in Lead Paint Litigation Ask SCOTUS to Review Judgment: Three companies involved in the billion dollar lead paint litigation have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the lawsuit, which was filed by 10 California counties and cities. The companies’ petition says the proceedings are not “consistent with basic notions of fairness or fundamental constitutional guarantees.” (Northern California Record)
