Future of Opioid Litigation May Be Bankruptcy: If Purdue Pharma files for bankruptcy,  as it reportedly considered last week, it could expedite a global resolution for the approximately 2,000 lawsuits filed against the company, including the 1,600 municipality lawsuits consolidated in the Ohio multi-district litigation. In case of bankruptcy, those cases would be moved to bankruptcy court, which would likely oversee the creation of a trust to settle financial claims against the company. (Vice)
