  • Study: Trial Bar Contributes $35 Million to Illinois Politicians Over Past 15 Years: The Illinois Civil Justice League released a study yesterday showing that “campaign contributions from trial lawyers to Illinois politicians and judges topped $35.25 million during the past 15 years.” $6 million was contributed through the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and another $29 million was contributed by the top 25 Illinois plaintiffs’ firms and their lawyers.   • Arizona AG May Seek Dismissal of 1,300 ADA Suits: The office of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich filed a motion to consolidate almost 1,300 Americans with Disability Act (ADA) lawsuits filed by a single plaintiff, most of them against small businesses in Mesa, AZ. The AG is expected to seek dismissal of the suits. “Businesses interpreted the serial suits as a shakedown scheme intended to pry thousands of dollars from them through virtually identical boilerplate suits.” (East Valley Tribune)
