  • WSJ Editorial - Graham "Tort Bar's Senate Undertaker"
April 21, 2017

The Wall Street Journal editorial board writes on the “largesse that the plaintiffs’ bar is bestowing on South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham in its moment of maximum political peril” through a fundraiser hosted by Houston plaintiffs’ attorney Mark Lanier.

“Like Bonasera the undertaker in The Godfather,” writes the Wall Street Journal, “Mr. Lanier wants Mr. Graham to use all of his powers, all of his skills, to bury at least two bills that have passed the House that address major tort-bar abuses.”

The WSJ editorial board urges Senator Grassley to move the bills to the floor regardless of Senator Grahams potential defection to ensure “Senators would have to go on record.”
